Nutrition:
1. Grease your pans with coconut oil – my favourite fat source on the planet!
2. Divide your 3 big meals a day into 5 smaller ones. Takes literally no time to do and will stoke your metabolism fire all day long. Plus eating smaller meals puts let’s stress on your digestive system. making it easier to assimilate nutrients.
3. Drink a glass of water before every meal – hydrated bodies detoxify faster!
4. Eat your vegetables – I harp on about these things a lot! Eating more vegetables will help you get & stay lean, period!
5. Use spices instead of sauces. Sauces contain tons of empty calories & hold next to no nutritional value. Spices & peppers, especially hot ones, help speed up your metabolism – ever get the sweats while eating something a little spicy, that’s your metabolism kicking up a gear!
6. Don’t drink soft drinks… Ever!
7. Pour the milk, almond milk, soy milk and all the other stuff you user to ruin your coffee with down the drain. Black coffee is a rich anti oxidant and potent fat burner but these effects are all but eliminated when you add this junk.
8. Switch the beers for red wine! Another rich anti oxidant, red wine can reduce your risk of developing cancers and reverse the ageing process thanks to the phenol resveratrol! Getting and staying lean doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a life – celebrate special occasions, such as birthdays and successful parole hearings with a glass of the good stuff (Spanish is the best).
Lifestyle:
9. Stand up! Sitting all the time makes you fat, ruins your posture, and murders you slowly. After sitting for an hour, your body slows production of fat-burning enzymes by as much as 90 percent. People who sit for at least half their day have shown a greater chance of keeling over from a heart attack.
10. Do your own chores. You’ll save money, improve your home, and burn some extra calories without stepping foot in a gym.
Exercise:
11. The single best thing you can do for your body – move more! Walking helps avert diabetes and strokes, boosts your sex drive and brain function. Better yet, adopt/buy a dog – people who walked their dogs twenty minutes a day will lose an average of 6kg in a year.
12. Hire a personal trainer! Ok so I’m a little bias on this one but investing in a trainer to keep you accountable is the best investment for your health. Having someone there to push you makes a significant difference in your results – you simply can’t replicate the intensity of a personal training session by yourself!
